Ventriloquism: She was a ventriloquist as a kid. But over the years it got forgotten about, until 1996 when she picked up a little dog puppet at a garage sale and it started talking.
It accompanied her on some of her cowboy poetry shows and was well received.
Attending comedy workshops, where the ventriloquism was further encouraged, Hilma added more characters and routines. Together they entertain at social clubs, dinners, birthday celebrations, theater, and comedy clubs.
